Celebrating Queer & Trans Joy Through Our Voices
The Queer Choir (QC) is an ensemble of queer and trans singers from diverse backgrounds, musical experiences, and voice types. We hold weekly rehearsals in the East Bay, CA, and perform 2-3 times per season.

Dear Community,
Our hearts are full of grief and rage. As the Oakland Queer Choir, we stand and raise our voices in solidarity with the people of Palestine. As queer and trans people, we know that our collective liberation and humanity is intertwined with Palestine's. As we witness the ongoing genocide in Palestine, we remember that we belong to each other, that our fight for justice, safety, and self-determination is yoked with theirs. We are not free until all of us are free. "You cannot have queer liberation while apartheid, patriarchy, capitalism and other oppressions exist. It's important to target the connections of these oppressive forces." -Ghaith Hilal, AIQaws for Sexual & Gender Diversity in Palestine Society. We unambiguously and unflinchingly stand with Palestine. We call for Ceasefire now, for the end of Israeli apartheid now, for the end of the illegal and violent Israeli occupation of stolen indigenous Palestinian land now. We stand against the dehumanization, hatred, and violence being enacted by the Israeli government. |
We say NO to a US-funded war of annihilation on Palestinians. NO to the Israeli government engaging in warfare targeting civilians, hospitals, and refugee camps. NO to conflating anti-zionism with anti-semitism. We stand and raise our voices in sustained action and resistance and we hold the people of Palestine and ourselves with fortitude, dignity, and tenderness.
We must metabolize the horrors that are streaming through our phones into salient, tangible action. We've been looking to our comrades at AROC, Palestinian Youth Movement, and the Anti-Police Terror Project for resources, upcoming actions, and ways to get involved and stay involved. We hope you do the same.
Sincerely,
The Queer Choir
